The president of the Spanish Federation of Associations of Sports and Tourist Ports (FEAPDT), Gabriel Martínez, assures that the sports and tourist ports cannot be closed 100% since they perform essential services and indispensable tasks. “Our duty is to take care of the boats that are moored in our ports and for this we need the work of our seafarers. All of them comply with the security protocol, but we must ensure security and we may also find ourselves in need of carrying out rescue tasks or attending to boats forced to call due to gross breakdowns. ”

In the last days news has appeared in the media of users who fear for their ships in the state of alarm. “These users must be calm, since in all the ports belonging to the Feapdt they have an established protocol for this type of situation”, Gabriel Martínez points out.

Due to the state of alarm decreed by the Government of Spain, ports have closed access to all citizens. The occupants of the ships moored in the ports have the same limitations as the rest of the citizens, being able to leave the ships only to buy food, medicine and all those departures authorized by Royal Decree 463/2020. In addition, teleworking has been provided to all workers who have functions that can be fulfilled by said means. The reception and captaincy of the ports will remain, as far as possible, closed to the public in person and the attention will take place by internet or by phone.
