The mayor of Guayanilla, Nelson Torres Yordán, reported today that his municipality suffered no damage after the 5.4 tremor reported in the morning.
Torres Yordán stated that no landslides or residences with major damage have been reported in his municipality.

At the same time, the mayor urged citizens to stay in safe areas, and established the Safe Zone Plan to enable meeting points in six areas of the municipality. At the same time, he reminded the public to have the emergency package ready.
On the other hand, the mayor said he received a call from Governor Wanda Vázquez and FEMA director for the Caribbean, Alejandro de la Campa, to see the situation in the municipality.
The tremor was reported at 7:13 in the morning with an epicenter in Peñuelas, and was felt throughout the island.
